*The fastest method of funding your account is via Online Bill Payment or Certified Cheque.
Funds do not bear interest during the hold period and cannot be used for trading until the hold period has expired and have been credited to your account.
Please consider that we cannot accept any third party deposit instruments such as traveler's cheques, third party cheques, bearer securities, or securities registered to third parties.

On average, a wire transfer takes up to 48 hours to be completed. As soon as the amount is deposited into your TradeFreedom account, you will be notified via email.
How do I know if you received my cheque?
When your cheque is received and when the funds are available in your TradeFreedom account, you will be notified via email.
Can I transfer funds from my existing broker to TradeFreedom?
Yes - you can do a Complete or Partial transfer:
Complete Transfer of Account: This is for the transfer of cash and/or securities from another brokerage account. An account number must first be assigned before you can initiate a transfer. Once an account number has been assigned, you must complete an Authorization to Transfer Account Form and include your most recent account statement. Once we receive this, the process takes on average 2 weeks, but may be longer, depending on the delivering institution.
Partial Transfer: If you would like to initiate a partial account transfer, please complete and submit a Authorization to Transfer Account Form along with a copy of your most recent account statement and indicate the cash and/or securities to be transferred. The process will take approximately 2 weeks, but may be longer, depending on the delivering institution.
How do I withdraw money from my TradeFreedom account?
You can withdraw money from your TradeFreedom account by calling a TradeFreedom Representative requesting one of the following:
Electronic funds transfer (EFT)
EFTs are processed on any business day. A void cheque is required on file and we require a 48 hours notice with a 2:00 PM ET cut-off. The minimum amount is $100.00 and the maximum amount is $25,000.00. There is no charge for this service.
Cheque by regular mail or pickup
A cheque by regular mail has a 2:00 PM ET cut-off time.
A cheque pickup at Penson Financial Services Canada Inc. requires a 1-hour notice and has a 2:00 PM ET cut-off time.
A cheque pickup at TradeFreedom requires a 24 hours notice and has a 2:00 PM ET cut-off time.
Wire Transfer
Wire service requires a void cheque on file and a 1-hour notice.
Canadian Domestic wires: CAD 25.00
U.S. Domestic wires: USD 40.00
International wires: Please call for rate.
Can I write cheques or use an Interac card to withdraw money from my TradeFreedom account?
